Public Stunt to Raise Awareness: Making Physical-World Analogies Tangible
Jul 21, 2025
As part of the Touch2Tech project, I conceptualized and designed a public awareness stunt to spotlight the value of integrating physical-world analogies into digital UI/UX.
The event features an interactive exhibition space with digital kiosks where participants engage in playful, gamified UI experiences—such as flipping virtual switches, turning dials, and pressing skeuomorphic buttons that mimic real-world interactions. This hands-on experience invites users to visually and physically understand the emotional and functional benefits of these designs.
By encouraging users to interact with interfaces modeled after familiar objects, the stunt helps:
Address the issue of unfamiliarity in digital products
Reduce the learning curve through intuitive design
Enhance engagement and pleasure in UI interaction
Showcase the creative and practical potential of skeuomorphism and tactile design
To further its impact, the concept can be extended into IT companies, universities, and design expos, inspiring developers and designers to adopt this method in their own work.
This initiative not only aligns with the core problems Touch2Tech aims to solve (as outlined in the project goals) but also creates a memorable and educational interaction that bridges digital and physical worlds.
